Welcome to Acacia Ridge Stud
ACACIA RIDGE STUD is a boutique horse stud on the Fleurieu Peninsula, situated 70km south of Adelaide on the hills above Yankalilla.
It is run by Denise Dawson who has been breeding a select number of foals each year since 1990 when the property was set up.
Acacia Ridge Stud concentrates on breeding quality sport horses using a mixture of imported warmblood lines and the top Australian thoroughbred lines. Our aim is to produce youngsters with top temperaments, good conformation, expressive correct paces and trainability.
Our foals are all foal imprinted and are raised in large paddocks on improved pasture. They have the best care, proper nutrition, feet trimmed and wormed regularly from day one.
We have quality young stock available from weanlings to four year olds already under saddle.
Training
Denise Dawson is the Stud Principal and an NCAS EA Level 1 General Coach.
Denise has had 50 years of experience with horses and has been running Acacia Ridge Stud, including backing and educating our young stock, since 1990.
She has a wide range of experience; eventing (including Gawler 3 Day Event), National Ladies Tent Pegging Champion, hunting, show jumping, steeplechasing and more recenty Denise is focusing on competing in dressage.
Denise is also an instructor with and life member of the Fleurieu Horse and Pony Club. She was the president of Southern Vales Dressage Club for many years and is also a life member of the club.
Denise is available for flat or jumping lessons on your own horse or on one of our school horses.
Children are very welcome with lessons given from six years of age.
